1 Chronicles 6

34 son of Elkanah, son of Jeroham, son of Eliel, son of Toah, 34 and two doors of cypress wood. The two leaves of the one door were folding, and the two leaves of the other door were folding. 34 “If your people go out to battle against their enemies, by whatever way you shall send them, and they pray to you toward this city that you have chosen and the house that I have built for your name, 34 They said to him, “Sir, give us this bread always.” 34 But the Spirit of the Lord clothed Gideon, and he sounded the trumpet, and the Abiezrites were called out to follow him. 34 “And if you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to get back the same amount. 34 When he went ashore he saw a great crowd, and he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. And he began to teach them many things. 34 “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. 34 For jealousy makes a man furious, and he will not spare when he takes revenge. 35 son of Zuph, son of Elkanah, son of Mahath, son of Amasai, 35 On them he carved cherubim and palm trees and open flowers, and he overlaid them with gold evenly applied on the carved work. 35 “then hear from heaven their prayer and their plea, and maintain their cause. 35 Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst. 35 And he sent messengers throughout all Manasseh, and they too were called out to follow him. And he sent messengers to Asher, Zebulun, and Naphtali, and they went up to meet them. 35 “But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil. 35 And when it grew late, his disciples came to him and said, “This is a desolate place, and the hour is now late. 35 He will accept no compensation; he will refuse though you multiply gifts. 36 son of Elkanah, son of Joel, son of Azariah, son of Zephaniah, 36 He built the inner court with three courses of cut stone and one course of cedar beams. 36 “If they sin against you—for there is no one who does not sin—and you are angry with them and give them to an enemy, so that they are carried away captive to a land far or near, 36 “But I said to you that you have seen me and yet do not believe. 36 Then Gideon said to God, “If you will save Israel by my hand, as you have said, 36 “Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful. 36 “Send them away to go into the surrounding countryside and villages and buy themselves something to eat.” 37 son of Tahath, son of Assir, son of Ebiasaph, son of Korah, 37 In the fourth year the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid, in the month of Ziv. 37 “yet if they turn their heart in the land to which they have been carried captive, and repent and plead with you in the land of their captivity, saying, ‘We have sinned and have acted perversely and wickedly,’ 37 “All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out. 37 “behold, I am laying a fleece of wool on the threshing floor. If there is dew on the fleece alone, and it is dry on all the ground, then I shall know that you will save Israel by my hand, as you have said.” 37 “Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven; 37 But he answered them, “You give them something to eat.” And they said to him, “Shall we go and buy two hundred denarii worth of bread and give it to them to eat?” 38 son of Izhar, son of Kohath, son of Levi, son of Israel; 38 And in the eleventh year, in the month of Bul, which is the eighth month, the house was finished in all its parts, and according to all its specifications. He was seven years in building it. 38 “if they repent with all their mind and with all their heart in the land of their captivity to which they were carried captive, and pray toward their land, which you gave to their fathers, the city that you have chosen and the house that I have built for your name, 38 “For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me. 38 And it was so. When he rose early next morning and squeezed the fleece, he wrung enough dew from the fleece to fill a bowl with water. 38 “give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” 38 And he said to them, “How many loaves do you have? Go and see.” And when they had found out, they said, “Five, and two fish.” 39 and his brother Asaph, who stood on his right hand, namely, Asaph the son of Berechiah, son of Shimea, 39 “then hear from heaven your dwelling place their prayer and their pleas, and maintain their cause and forgive your people who have sinned against you. 39 “And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day. 39 Then Gideon said to God, “Let not your anger burn against me; let me speak just once more. Please let me test just once more with the fleece. Please let it be dry on the fleece only, and on all the ground let there be dew.” 39 He also told them a parable: “Can a blind man lead a blind man? Will they not both fall into a pit? 39 Then he commanded them all to sit down in groups on the green grass. 40 son of Michael, son of Baaseiah, son of Malchijah, 40 “Now, O my God, let your eyes be open and your ears attentive to the prayer of this place. 40 “For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.” 40 And God did so that night; and it was dry on the fleece only, and on all the ground there was dew. 40 “A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone when he is fully trained will be like his teacher. 40 So they sat down in groups, by hundreds and by fifties. 41 son of Ethni, son of Zerah, son of Adaiah, 41 “And now arise, O Lord God, and go to your resting place, you and the ark of your might. Let your priests, O Lord God, be clothed with salvation, and let your saints rejoice in your goodness. 41 So the Jews grumbled about him, because he said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven.” 41 “Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? 41 And taking the five loaves and the two fish he looked up to heaven and said a blessing and broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples to set before the people. And he divided the two fish among them all. 42 son of Ethan, son of Zimmah, son of Shimei, 42 “O Lord God, do not turn away the face of your anointed one! Remember your steadfast love for David your servant.” 42 They said, “Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How does he now say, ‘I have come down from heaven’ ?” 42 “How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take out the speck that is in your eye,’ when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the speck that is in your brother’s eye. 42 And they all ate and were satisfied. 43 son of Jahath, son of Gershom, son of Levi. 43 Jesus answered them, “Do not grumble among yourselves. 43 “For no good tree bears bad fruit, nor again does a bad tree bear good fruit, 43 And they took up twelve baskets full of broken pieces and of the fish. 44 On the left hand were their brothers, the sons of Merari: Ethan the son of Kishi, son of Abdi, son of Malluch, 44 “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day. 44 “for each tree is known by its own fruit. For figs are not gathered from thornbushes, nor are grapes picked from a bramble bush. 44 And those who ate the loaves were five thousand men. 45 son of Hashabiah, son of Amaziah, son of Hilkiah, 45 “It is written in the Prophets, ‘And they will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to me— 45 “The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. 45 Immediately he made his disciples get into the boat and go before him to the other side, to Bethsaida, while he dismissed the crowd. 46 son of Amzi, son of Bani, son of Shemer, 46 “not that anyone has seen the Father except he who is from God; he has seen the Father. 46 “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you? 46 And after he had taken leave of them, he went up on the mountain to pray.
