Jesus Falls With the Cross

Jesus lies exhausted on the road to Calvary, His blood-stained robe pressed into the dust beneath the heavy wooden cross. Roman soldiers, mounted guards, and armed escorts surround Him, forcing the procession forward while a gathered crowd watches the suffering Messiah. Mourning women reach toward Him in grief, recalling the compassion shown along the way to the crucifixion, while the weight of the cross becomes a visible sign of sin, sacrifice, and obedience unto death. The scene belongs to the Passion of Christ, especially the journey from condemnation to Golgotha.
