Jesus Touches a Leper

Jesus reaches out and touches the face of a man afflicted with leprosy, meeting his uncleanness with compassion rather than distance. The man’s closed eyes and marked skin emphasize the vulnerability of the encounter, while the Lord’s hand becomes the visible sign of mercy, healing, and restored fellowship.

This scene reflects the Gospel account in which a leper comes to Christ seeking cleansing. Under the Law, leprosy carried social and ceremonial isolation, yet Jesus does not recoil. He touches the man and says, “I will; be clean,” revealing His authority over disease and His willingness to restore the outcast.
