Description
Eliezer, the servant of Abraham, sets out with a camel caravan from a tented desert encampment, raising his hand as the loaded animals begin their journey. The scene reflects the opening movement of Genesis 24, when Abraham sends his trusted servant to seek a wife for Isaac from among his relatives rather than from the surrounding Canaanites. The camels, packs, attendants, and nomadic tents emphasize covenant-era travel, household wealth, and obedient mission.
Theologically, the caravan represents providence in motion: Abraham acts in faith upon God’s promise, and Eliezer carries that calling into the wilderness through prayerful dependence. This artwork is well suited for teaching on Isaac and Rebekah, covenant family, divine guidance, faithful service, and God’s unseen direction in ordinary journeys.
