Through the Cornfields

Jesus stands beside a ripe grainfield as religious leaders confront Him over the Sabbath. Behind Him, His disciples move through the heads of grain, recalling the moment when they plucked and ate while walking with their Teacher. The warm field, desert road, and distant village setting place the encounter in the everyday life of first-century Galilee, where hunger, mercy, and law meet face to face.

The artwork depicts the Gospel account in which the Pharisees challenge Jesus about what is lawful on the Sabbath.
